I founded the Fresno Mycology Society in 2015 chiefly to help engage and education the public about their local fungal allies.
I studied Mycology and Botany at Cal Poly Humboldt and spent an outsized amount of my time there foraging and exploring in the Pacific Northwest.
I’ve worked with Oregon State University monitoring the pernicious forest pathogen Sudden Oak Death (Phytophthora ramorum), the effectiveness of various treatment strategies and its impact on the native fungal community.
Most recently I’ve been working with the Fungal Diversity Survey to help identify and catalog countless fungal species in the Central Sierra Nevada Range in order to aid in the conservation and identification.
It is my passion to take folks into the forest and teach them about the magical world of kingdom Fungi. I hope to see you there!
