GET INVOLVED
The goal of this project is to collaborate with citizen naturalists & mycology enthusiasts of all levels to map the distribution and diversity of fungi & fungus-like organisms in the Central Valley & Sierra Nevada area. This region is historically understudied despite its fungal diversity. With your help, we can shed light on this uncharted area. You can find our project below.

Here how you can collaborate with us and begin contributing to the field of Mycology as a citizen scientist:
Create an account with iNaturalist.
Submit observations. All “research grade” observations of Fungi & Lichen tagged in and around Fresno county will automatically by added into our Mycoflora project.

Caution: When collecting wild fungi, never consume anything you find in nature without first consulting an expert. To help familiarize yourself with these species, an attached a list of edible and toxic fungi can be viewed and downloaded below.
